Referral Process

How to start the referral process

Initial contact with SI can be made by e-mail or by calling us at (415) 546-2080 to discuss Survivors International's eligibility guidelines, intake process and other general information regarding Survivors International’s services.

PLEASE NOTE: Psychological and Medical Evaluations for political asylum cases often have a waiting list. If possible, we ask that they be booked at least two months in advance of the court hearing date.

Download Referral Sheet

The referring individual or organization will then request to receive the SI Referral Sheet by fax, mail, or by downloading the Referral Sheet. On the referral form the referring party will outline basic information regarding the client's situation and background, and return this form to Survivors International by faxing it to 415.546.2084, attn: Associate Director, or mailing it by postal mail to:

Survivors International
703 Market Street, Ste. #301
San Francisco CA 94103

At this time we do not accept referral forms via e-mail or internet.

Intake

Upon receipt of the referral form, the referring party will be contacted by Survivors International's Intake Coordinator to discuss the specifics of the client’s case and schedule an intake evaluation. Except in the case of self-referrals, the Intake Coordinator will not speak directly to potential clients, but arrangements will be made through their referring agent.

The intake appointment takes place at the Survivors International San Francisco office. If necessary, Survivors International will coordinate translator services for intake and therapy appointments. Following intake, the client is matched with a Survivors International clinician who will arrange an initial appointment as appropriate.

PLEASE NOTE: Survivors International does not cater to "Walk-in" clients without due assessment of the needs of the client and by appointment.
