A range of services are available through Survivors International's broad network of providers which include physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers, and volunteers. Currently there are over 50 clinicians who provide either low cost or free services to Survivors International's clients. Medi-Cal and San Francisco Access coverage are also accepted.
Specifically, we provide the following services:
Individual psychotherapy for children and adults, including ongoing clinical work and short-term emergency interventions
Family and Couple's Therapy
Clinical Support Groups (Latina Women Survivors of Domestic Violence Support Group, Latino Gay Mens Support Group, & Survivors Peer Support Group)
Forensic psychological and medical evaluations for political asylum Note: Psychological and medical evaluations for political asylum cases often have a waiting list. If possible, we request that they be booked at least two months in advance of hearing dates.
Psychiatric medication management and counseling
Medical consultation and referrals for primary care
Links to local agencies that provide assistance for food, shelter, education, and employment
One-on-one support with day-to-day living needs and accompaniment to
appointments
Ongoing case management to ensure that each survivor gets what he/she needs to heal and thrive
Community-based solidarity events
Ongoing training and consultation is provided to clinicians and physicians who treat survivors of torture in collaboration with Survivors International.
